Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas
In Heir of Fire, Celaena has survived intense challenges and heartbreak, but not without a cost. Now, she's off to a new land to face a truth about her heritage that could change her life forever. As brutal forces gather, ready to enslave her world, Celaena must find the strength to battle her inner demons and confront the looming evil.
With each book, Maas does an increasingly skillful job of weaving together familiar characters, settings, and an expanding narrative, constructing the intricate world necessary for the story she still has to tell. And although I'm reminded about some of my struggles with a fantasy novel that features multiple points of view, something I don't always love (my impatience to get back to the main character's story being a key element), I can't help but get so involved with the completely engaging character development and the overarching story.
This book was a significant reread for me, solidifying my love for the entire series. I vividly remember diving straight into the next one and devouring it as well. I can't wait to return to this world again soon.
