Orbital by Samantha Harvey
Harvey takes readers on a reflective journey through the complexities of humanity and our relationship with the world we inhabit. From the perspective of a crew aloft in space and circling the planet, Orbital offers poignant, meditative moments with beautifully crafted language. If this is your first existential book without a plot, it'll it all the right notes, but I felt like I've been here before. And while I loved revisiting all these ponderings through the lens of where we fall in the expanse of space, the intricate exploration of the human psyche, all wrapped in eloquent prose, it lacked a bit of freshness. The profundities were as important as ever, but I've visited this particular realm before.
Audiobook, as narrated by Sarah Naudi: Naudi's narration was fine, with some passing flaws (the American accent was particularly…"noteworthy"). I'd recommend this one in print for those looking to dive in.
