The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J. Maas

The Assassin's Blade, short stories within the Throne of Glass universe, inadvertently showcases how much world-building room Maas needs and uses in full-length medium. While the short story format isn't suited to everyone, Maas has penned these episodes with backstory that, once back in the bigger ToG world, feels necessary and eye-opening, but displays a strange and bland mix of snippets of plot and very little character development.
